The Railways has said that India will soon have the Diamond Quadrilateral for high-speed trains which will shorten travel time to a great extent and make the journey extremely comfortable for the passengers.
Commenting on the issue, Minister of State for Railway Manoj Sinha told the media, "Currently the whole emphasis is given on the timing of passenger trains and nobody cares about the delay in running of goods trains. The government is working to ensure that good trains run on right time."
The Diamond Quadrilateral is a project of the Indian Railway to establish high-speed rail network, which will connect the four metros, namely Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
Sinha also informed that Railways had signed an MoU with the Surface Transport Ministry for construction of Railway Over Bridges (ROBs) across the country.
Following this, almost all the railway crossings will have over bridges and this is bound to bring down the number of accidents drastically," he added.
