The government introduced the Food Security Bill, which seeks to give legal right on cheaper food grains to 63.5% of the country's population, in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
Food minister KV Thomas said on the sidelines of the 77th Annual General Meeting ( AGM) of Indian Sugar Mills Association ( ISMA) that the National Food Security Bill will be introduced in Lok Sabha on Thursday.
The speaker had given the permission to introduce the bill, he said.
