Market stays in red amid volatility

The Indian markets are trading with losses amid volatility. SBI, ICICI Bank, L&T, HDFC, Bharti Airtel, Jindal Steel, Sterlite Industries are the major heavyweight losers. The market breadth stood weak. The BSE Midcap and BSE Smallcap indices down by 0.89% and 0.80% respectively. The Nifty fell below 5600.

Among the 13 sectoral indices, Gainers - IT up by 0.98%, Oil & Gas up by 0.93% and TECk up by 0.43%. Losers - Realty down by 2.32%, Consumer Durables down by 2.14% and Bankex down by 1.76%.

At 12.19 pm, the Sensex was trading at 18371, down by 60 points and the Nifty was trading at 5580, down by 26 points.
