Dear colleagues,

We are indeed facing the most difficult phase of our generation, which probably even the ones before us have not experienced and hopefully the ones after us will never have to go through. What is most tough in the current crisis is the uncertainty and the fact this is going take time to resolve. But with our collective efforts and determination, it will resolve, if we adapt and adapt fast.

We are confronted with two main challenges:

• Employee Wellbeing - Ensuring the physical safety and mental health of our employees
• Business Continuity - How do we continue to service our clients and also keep our operations functioning smoothly

While both of the above are equally important, as your HR Head, the wellbeing of our staff is a key concern for me. I therefore appeal to you to take all necessary precautions to keep yourself safe and follow the necessary social distancing advisory. As an organisation, BNP Paribas has put in place all the necessary measures to ensure the safety and health interest of its employees.

Ensuring the business continuity is also paramount both to ensure the sustainability of our businesses, as well as to fulfill the role entrusted on us by the economy and society. Your presence both working at our split offices and while at home does contribute to this sustenance. For those working from home, I thank you for continuing your BAU whilst managing the challenges of personal life disruptions. For the ones coming to the office, I thank you for making every effort to continue your deliverables whilst managing your fears, your families and the commuting challenges.

Despite all the odds, the patience and unstinted loyalty of our staff to the organisation has been commendable and I express pride and gratitude for the same.

The management of Sharekhan and BNP Paribas continues to count on you to deliver and staying strong in overcoming this situation. HR and other teams are working continuously to provide all the necessary support and assistance in making your working conditions as safe and comfortable as possible.

While we may be socially distanced, let’s remain emotionally and virtually connected.
