Indian indices

The benchmark indices closed higher on December 5, 2025, after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor, Sanjay Malhotra, led the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided to slash the repo rate by 25 basis points to 5.25%. At the end Sensex surged by 0.52% or 447.05 points to 85,712.37. The Nifty gained 0.59% or 152.70 points to 26,186.45.

Rupee ended flat at 89.98/$ against December 04 close.
