Indian indices
The benchmark indices failed to hold their opening gains on April 18, and closed lower for the fourth straight day. The Nifty fell below the crucial 22,000 mark, concluding at its lowest level in a month. All the sectoral indices were in the red except telecom and media. The Sensex slipped by 0.62% or 454.69 points to 72,488.99. The Nifty dipped by 0.69% or 152.05 points to 21,995.85.
