Two Sherus from our Bhilai branch, Ravisha Athwani, Assistant Relationship Manager - Retail, and Shipra Sinha, intern, have proved that if you have the talent, drive and passion, you can start contributing from day one, even if you are a new joinee. The two ladies joined Sharekhan just two months back and they have already been nominated for Sharekhan Success Stories! So how did these two ladies make it to the hallowed portals of Sharekhan’s staff recognition newsletter? Well, together they activated 12 customers from Retail segment for our Weekly Delta Neutral – Short Strangle Option Strategy in a matter of a week (for the weekly expiry ended June 30, 2022).

Out of the 12 customers activated by them, six had not traded even once in CY2022. Besides these activations, the two Sherus collected fresh assets to the tune of Rs.11.75 lakh from these 12 activated customers, exclusively for the weekly option strategies. What’s more, they already have a few more customers in the pipeline, who are likely to get activated in the coming weeks.

The big deal about their achievement is that they have not only converted a few inactive and retail customers into active customers but also created 12 potential customers for the future Super Trader segment, as these customers have been activated for disciplined or regularly tradeable strategies. What’s more, they can also lead to cross-selling opportunities. Thus, thanks to their achievement, the Bhilai branch can now easily achieve its revenue targets. We quizzed the two Sherus on their achievement and this is what they had to say.

Internal Communications Team (ICT): Congratulations on being nominated for Sharekhan Success Stories! How does it feel to be recognised for your achievements?
Ravisha Athwani (RA): Firstly, I would like to thank our Branch Manager Nitin Sharma for nominating me and obviously it feels amazing and great. It was thanks to the combined effort of my branch that I could achieve the result. It was teamwork all the way and our branch manager built my confidence and he always motivates me.

Shipra Sinha (SS): Firstly, I would like to thank the entire team of Sharekhan. Really, it's an amazing feeling to be recognised under this category. I'm grateful for this accomplishment and feel that what I've learnt (and am still learning) is going to give me a big advantage in my work now.

ICT: Your achievement is commendable. Did you face any challenges? How did you overcome them?
RA: Yes, it was a tough task for me as I am newly appointed here and I did not have much knowledge about the stock market. The NISM exam pressure and a lack of understanding between me and my teammate (Shipra Sinha) stressed me out too. But then, we overcame this situation by clearing our issues and we tried our best to achieve the target. And now the whole result is in front of you.

SS: Yes, at first we (Ravisha mam and I) faced many difficulties because of a lack of understanding between us and that situation made me feel exhausted sometimes. But then, we sorted it out through proper communication, work ethics and, of course, Nitin sir's empathetic words. As he says: "Never hesitate to have big targets and make efforts because great things never come from our comfort zone. Do your best without stressing about the result and at the end, your goals will become your reality". And now, it's proven. That's all!

ICT: Your message to the rest of the Sherus?
RA: Everything is possible. Make the effort, result will come automatically and if we work as a team then things become easy for us. I just follow the instructions and steps which were taught to me by my seniors and our branch manager.

SS: Oops! It's really a tough question for me as I'm still in my learning phase and you guys are truly awesome in your job. I just follow the tasks/processes taught to me by my seniors; especially our branch manager. And I've nothing to say more; however, you all just prioritise your time and stay focused on your targets and goals.
