Sharekhan is working on a response plan to protect the health and safety of all staff in the wake of the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), which has now been declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization. The spread of this virus can be significantly slowed through the implementation of robust containment and control activities. Countries across the globe are acting urgently and taking unprecedented measures to fight the pandemic.
To stop the spread of COVID-19 India has virtually quarantined itself from the world for a month. The BNP Paribas Group is issuing restrictions and travel advisories regularly to protect the wellbeing of its staff across the globe. Sharekhan is following all the Group recommendations. We are also watching the rapidly evolving situation carefully to determine the best approach to fight the pandemic, given the local peculiarities and challenges.
Communication plays a critical role in such situations and it will be Sharekhan’s endeavour to keep all its staff informed about the latest developments around the pandemic. We are rolling out Coronavirus Comms, an initiative to update all staff daily on the COVID-19 situation in Sharekhan and the company’s plan and preparedness to deal with it. We have also built a webpage that will house all Sharekhan’s communications on the topic. Stay informed, stay safe.

Travel Advisory: All inter-office/branch travel suspended with immediate
effect, split teams and remote-working policy being tested |
|
As the novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) continues to spread, to protect the wellbeing of all staff the Sharekhan management has put a stop to all inter-office/branch travel till further notice. As a precautionary measure, it has started the preparations for implementing split teams to work from different offices and is in the process of identifying employees who can work from home.
It is important to understand that the virus can spread easily in densely populated places like packed trains or buses and railway stations. A conscious effort on our part to reduce close contact between people can help limit the spread of COVID-19. Hence, the less number of employees come to work, the greater will be the distance available between the employees who are unable to work remotely. The employees who can work from home must not travel to work in the interest of protecting the health and safety of their colleagues who cannot work from home. Employees who need to work from home will be informed.
Each and every employee is hereby directed to adhere to the dos and don’ts of inter-office travel and social distancing:
- All business related events and gatherings have been cancelled.
- All picnics, team outings including those for corporate social responsibility or team-building activities, business or reward related lunches etc have been postponed indefinitely.
- All staff are advised against changing their office or branch locations. For example, if your workstation is at Ruby in Mumbai, you should continue to work from there and not travel to any other Sharekhan location until further notice.
- No staff should travel to other locations for meetings or gather in large numbers at any location to conduct meetings. All are advised to participate in work related meetings via phone, Webex or videoconference.
- Employees identified to work from home will continue to do so and not move to any other office locations.
- Employees who would be identified to work from alternate locations like Empire Plaza and Ruby in Mumbai will not move to base locations (from where they generally operate).
- Similarly, employees sitting in one branch must not travel to any other branch till further notice.
Please contact your manager and/or HR business partner for further information.
