Incidents and disasters like fire, earthquake, hardware failure, software failure, etc. can disrupt the normal course of business operations.
This may cause a negative impact on the organization’s brand image, can result in customer dissatisfaction, financial loss and more.
To minimize the impact of such an event, one of the key activities to do is to identify applications vital to the business.
How ?
By doing the Application impact Assessment (AIA)
AIA exercise will help to identify the continuity requirements of the application – whether it is Low, Moderate, Serious or Extreme.
The impact on client, regulatory/legal , media and financial is assessed based on the scenario that Application is shutdown for 24 hours.
This will further help in setting up applications on disaster recovery sites if the application falls under the category of ‘Serious’ or ‘Extreme’.
