In the COVID-19 lockdown, we keep hearing stories about Sherus going out of their way to help customers and we feel proud of them. We bring you two heroic stories today.
On May 7 in Hyderabad, one of our ultra high net worth individual (HNI) customers urgently needed a loan against the shares in his demat account with Sharekhan. Shashi Kumar, the client’s Advisory Manager in the Hyderabad main branch, pulled all the right strings and took some smart decisions promptly to process the client’s request. In view of the lockdown Shashi obtained the permission of the head office to mail a scanned copy of the pledge form to the customer so that the latter could print, fill and sign it. Shashi also took permission to keep the physical copy safe with the Group Head Rangarao Kothamasu until courier service resumed and he could send it to the head office. He then enlisted the help of Santosh Kasarla, the client’s Relationship Manager, to collect the filled form from the client. Santosh, who lives midway between the Hyderabad main branch and the client’s residence, travelled to the client’s place to collect the filled form even though it was difficult to commute in the lockdown conditions. Together these two Sherus helped a client in need in difficult times and did Sharekhan proud. Of course, they were ably supported by Rangarao; Jyotsnamayee Badatya, Back office Executive; Nagaraju, Deputy Manager – LAS; and the head office team.

Back in Mumbai, last month when an HNI customer, who is a financier and had advanced loans to his business associates by pledging securities with Sharekhan, wanted to urgently sell the securities, Nilesh Vasudeo made special efforts to help him out. The client needed to sign the pledged forms and sell the shares urgently. This required someone who could do the paperwork at one go without any delay or mistake. So the task was assigned to a trusted warrior of the HNI Cell, Nilesh, who first picked up the pledge forms from Mumbai’s Churchgate branch, filled them up and took them to the client for signature. What’s more, as the customer wanted to invoke shares of several companies, Nilesh had to make a couple of trips to the customer’s residence to ensure that all shares were finally transferred to the customer’s demat account and the customer was able to sell them. Special efforts in these difficult times are very well appreciated by customers and create a bond of trust which lead to long lasting relationships.
