Benefits of putting corporate FDs online
- Reduction in front-line staff’s efforts to process physical applications
- Mitigation of risks associated with the handling of documentation
- Enhancement in customer and RM experience
- Increase in product penetration due to online availability facilitating campaigns
We have re-iterated the benefits of corporate FDs below.
3 benefits of investing in corporate FDs
- These offer attractive interest rates as compared with bank deposits and government bonds.
- These are less risky as compared with equities.
- The investment is not subject to market fluctuations since the deposits have fixed interest pay-out and the capital is held until maturity.
Key points to remember
- Investments in corporate deposits are subject to credit risk of the corporate issuing the deposit.
- Investments in corporate fixed deposits have a lock-in period and are subject to penalties on pre-mature withdrawals.
- Since the interest rate for corporate deposits is fixed at the time of investment, in case of an interest rate increase, a client’s investment is locked at a lower interest rate-yielding product.
