Dear Sherus,

Last week, on February 8, we completed two decades in the financial service industry. Twenty years ago, Sharekhan was launched as a small start-up with the mission to make the stock market accessible to small investors and help them realise their financial goals. Today, Sharekhan is the preferred stock broker of 2 million customers and one of the leading stock brokers in the country.

In the last twenty years, we have consolidated our leadership position in the industry by offering a complete phygital experience to our customers through our world-class digital trading platforms, and extensive network of brick-and-mortar branches and franchised outlets.

Throughout, we have been true to our brand values including innovation, entrepreneurship, transparency, honesty, strong risk and compliance management, ethical practices and customer satisfaction. These values have defined the culture of our organisation and given us the edge we enjoy over the rest in the industry. In the process, we have won the hearts of our customers as well as numerous awards and accolades from eminent industry bodies, media organsations and market regulators.

We have also overcome a plethora of challenges including the burst of the dot-com bubble, stock market scams and crashes, economic meltdowns, political instabilities and global uncertainties. Twice we reached nearly the brink of collapse but we fought back with resilience each time. This is what makes this milestone so special, exciting and significant. We have succeeded against all odds.

Behind all our achievements lies only one factor — the people of Sharekhan. That is, the Sherus. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Sharekhan, I thank each and every one of you for your contribution to the success of the organisation. It is your trust, loyalty and love that keep the Tiger going and dreaming bigger.

Many amongst you from across functions also completed twenty years or more in the organisation on February 8 or will do so this year. That is superb. I congratulate you on your unique milestone. I am happy and proud that while building a long-term career you have created something special, a world-class company — Sharekhan.

I am confident that many more Sherus will achieve this milestone in the years to come. After all, Sharekhan remains a fun place to work and will only get better with time.

Sherus, you are the indomitable spirit that powers Sharekhan. Not just Sharekhan Day, every day is your day.
