It was converted into a public limited company on 1st October. - The Company is engaged in the manufacture of Luna mopeds and business in leasing and hire purchase financing. 1977 - The company purchased from Jaya Hind Motors the technical know-how for the manufacture of engine and gear box, including drawing material specifications, process sheets on payment of Rs.1 lakh. 1980 - The company entered into an agreement with Morini Franco Motor, SPA of Italy on 6th April for the purchase of the technical know-how of their engine. 1983 - The company obtained a licence to increase the capacity to 200000 mopeds per annum. 1984 - The company received approval for entering into an collaboration agreement with Dr. G.L. Sessa, an Italian firm, for the manufacture of 3 wheelers. A letter of intent was received for increasing the overall licensed capacity from 200000 to 400000 motorised two wheelers. 1985 - A new moped "Kinetic Swift" incorporating advanced variator technology was launched. With the governments endorsed on its manufacturing licence the company became eligible for the manufacture of motorised 2 wheelers and 3 wheelers upto 350cc. 1986 - Various CNC machines were installed and commissioned. 1987 - The company was accorded registration to manufacture 200000 sets each of automobile gears and shafts, automobile variator assembly, cylinder block, cylinder head, crank cases and covers, crank shaft assembly and connecting rods and 50000 sets of automobile electrical starter motor, AC generators and electronic ignition systems. 1989 - New mopeds such as Luna Magnum and `Spark DX' were introduced. 1990 - The company allotted on 21st June, 43,0000 `A' equity shares of Rs.10 each for cash at par to the employees who were in service for than 5 years at the time of offer and working directors of the company. These `A' equity shares should not be disposed for a period of 5 years from the date of allotment. - The company was permitted to set up an assembly plant to manufacture and assemble 75000 mopeds per annum of its existing licensed capacity of 400000 mopeds per annum. - The company received registration to manufacture advanced colour television sets and colour television chassis at Pune at Ahmednagar. - The company promoted a joint venture with 20th Century Finance Corporation Ltd., Mumbai under the name and style of 20th Century Kinetic Finance Ltd. Two more finance companies namely Integrated Finance Ltd., and Kinetic Capital Finance Ltd were also promoted. 1991 - New mopeds such as "Safari" and "Luna Wings" were introduced.
