The company had cash & cash equivalents of Rs. 845.3 crore cash in its books as of September 30, 2021. With the sale of its healthcare business for US$ 1.2 Bn (net inflow of US$1.1 bn) to BPEA, the cash and cash equivalent would increase by around 8,150 crore (versus the total dividend payment of Rs. 314 crore). The board approved 1-for-1 bonus share issue. Management indicated that this divestiture will help HGS unlock value and makes the capital available to grow the business of all the other verticals and divisions. The company also increased limits for its debt to Rs. 3,500 crore. We believe the dividend payment (Rs. 314 crore) to the shareholders is lower than street’s expectation given cash balance of more than Rs. 8,150 crore.
