We apply exacting standards of innovation, design and service throughout the production journey from yarn to denim cloth. Meeting the demand of both global and local customers, we are committed to the Government of India's "Make in India" initiative and becoming the global centre of excellence in denim manufacturing.YEAR EVENTS1962 - Suryalakshmi Cotton Mills Limited was incorporated in August. The main objective of the company is to manufacture of cotton yarn. 1985 - During a new unit with an installed capacity of 10,080 spindles was established at Amanagallu in Andhra Pradesh. 1987 - Till date 30,000 No. of equity shares were issued without payment in cash and 2,61,626 No. of equity shares were issued as bonus shares. 1993 - 5,63,256 bonus shares issued in prop. 1:1. 1994 - The Company undertook a project to diversify into the manufacturing of denim. The composite denim project has a production capacity of 20.38 min. mtr. - The Company embarked on the second phase of modernisation. - 22,53,024 bonus shares allotted in prop. 2:1. 1995 - The Company undertook to set up the first phase of the Denim project to produce 10.20 million metres of Denim fabric at Ramtek, Maharashtra. - The Company worked out a modernisation programme for Mahaboobnagar unit. 1996 - The Company's entered into new market viz., Israel, Columbia, Tunisia, Russia etc. - During September, the Company issued 50,70,000 rights equity shares (prem Rs. 30; prop. 3:2). 50,60,025 shares taken up. 9,975 shares remained unissued. - Another 40,56,000 No. of equity shares were issued at a premium of Rs. 40 per share through prospectus of which 11,00,000 shares reserved and allotted to Indian financial institutions, banks, Mutual Funds. Of the remaining the following were issued on preferential allotment basis. - (i) 2,00,000 shares to shareholders of group companies (only 78,100 shares taken up); - (ii) 41,000 shares to employees of the Company (only 16,300 shares taken up); - (iii) 5,00,000 shares to Indian financial institutions and banks (details of allotment not known); - (iv) 3,00,000 shares to Indian Mutual Funds (details of allotment not known); - (v) 9,00,000 to NRIs/OCBs/FDD (only 13,300 shares taken up). - Balance 10,15,000 No. of equity shares along with 18,34,000 shares not taken up under preferential quota issued to the public (all were taken up). 2005 -Suryalakshmi Cotton Mills has given the Bonus in the Ratio of 1:1 2006 - Suryalakshmi Cotton Mills Ltd has allotted 14,28,300 equity shares of Rs 10 each at a price of Rs 245 a share to Unit Trust of India Investment Advisory Ltd. 2008 - Sri. Sunil Kumar Kolangara - Director- Private equity, UTI Ventures, has been nominated as a Director on the Board. 2009 - IFCI Ltd., has nominated Sri.
