UFSL, the Promoter, was granted the RBI In-Principle Approval to establish an SFB, on October 7, 2015. the Bank was incorporated as `Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Limited' on July 4, 2016 at New Delhi, as a public limited company under the Companies Act, 2013, and was granted a certificate of incorporation by the RoC on the same date. UFSL was thereafter granted the RBI Final Approval, to establish and carry on business as an SFB, on November 11, 2016.Subsequently, UFSL transferred its business undertaking comprising of its lending and financing business to the Bank, pursuant to the Business Transfer Agreement dated January 12, 2017 (described in more detail below). the Bank commenced its business on February 1, 2017. the Bank became a scheduled bank pursuant to a notification dated July 3, 2017 issued by the RBI, through which the Bank was included in the second schedule to the RBI Act.Major events and milestones of the Bank :2016- UFSL received RBI Final Approval to set up the Bank- Incorporation of the Bank2017- Commencement of the operations on February 1, 2017- Transfer of business undertaking of UFSL to the Bank pursuant to the Business Transfer Agreement- Inclusion of the Bank in the second schedule of the RBI Act- Introduced bio-metric authentication facilities in the ATMs2018- First full year of banking operations with 187 banking outlets of which 25% were in URCs- Bank recorded a net profit of Rs.68.63 million2019- Launched new business lines, such as, loans for rural agriculture business and allied activities, financial institutions group lending, two-wheeler loans, personal loans and overdraft facility- Crossed fthe million customer base and ended Fiscal 2019 with a unique active customer base of over 4.61 million- Total deposits grew from Rs. 37.72 billion in Fiscal 2018 to Rs. 73.79 billion in Fiscal 2019- Loan portfolio crossed Rs. 110.49 billion- Launched new digital services -bill payment, UPI, NACH and mobile application in five languages and the corporate internet banking facility.2020 - Ujjivan Small Finance Bank is ranked 5th among `Best Large Workplaces in Asia 2020' by the Great Place To Work Institute. 2021 -Ujjivan Small Finance Bank collaborates with LoanTap to provide personal loans to salaried class. -Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Launches Women Savings Account. -Ujjivan Small Finance Bank partners with NIRA to provide Personal Loans.  -Ujjivan Small Finance Bank partners with nStore to digitise offline retailers. 2022 -Ujjivan SFB ties up with Hero MotoCorp for two-wheeler financing. -Ujjivan SFB's initiative wins Gold at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. 2023-Ujjivan Small Finance Bank launches `Hello Ujjivan'- India's first Voice, visual, vernacular banking app.-Max Life partners with Ujjivan Small Finance Bank to offer life insurance solutions.-Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Launched Unpause Initiative to Celebrate the International Women's Day.-Hello Ujjivan App wins the prestigious 13th Aegis Graham Bell Awards.2025-Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Inaugurates Rejuvenated Kanekkallu Lake in Collaboration with United Way Bengaluru and Vagata Gram Panchayat.-Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Launched Foreign Exchange Services and EEFC Accounts for Seamless Global Transactions.-Ujjivan Small Finance Bank launched Ivory Program for its affluent customers.
