How To Register for Do Not Disturb DND  

To block or selectively control commercial communications you can easily register for Do Not Disturb DND using any of the following options: 

1. Telecom service provider’s app  

2. Telecom service providers website  

3. TRAI’s DND 3.0 app (available on the Play Store)  

4. Call/ SMS to 1909 (details below)  

This allows you to avoid spam calls and messages by fully blocking for selectively blocking communications based on your preferences. 

 How To Register Complaints  

1. Receiving spam despite DND: If you continue receiving spam calls or SMSes after registering for DND, file a complaint through your telecom providers app, website, or TRAI’s DND 3.0 app. You can also report it by calling or SMSing 1909. 

 2. Suspected fraud communication - Report any fraudulent calls or messages received within the last 30 days using the Chakshu platform at sancharsathi.gov.in/sfc.  

 3. If Fraud Has Occurred – If you've been a victim of financial fraud or cyber-crime immediately report it to the Cyber Crime helpline 1930 or on the Cyber Crime website at cybercrime.gov.in. 

How To Use 1909 for DND and Complaints  

You Can Call or SMS 1909 to:  

1. Get SMS Header Information: Send “DETAILS of <Header> to 1909 (e.g. DETAILS OF ABCXYZ”) to receive the senders’ details. 

2. Register Complaints: Send a brief description of the spam call/SMS along with the sender's phone number or ID, and the date of receipt in dd/mm/yy format. 

3. Activate/Deactivate DND: To fully or partially block or unblock commercial communications, SMS the following codes to 1909: 

• Send an SMS with the text FULLY BLOCK to block all categories 

• Send an SMS with the text BLOCK 1 to block all Banking/ Insurance/ Credit Cards/ Financial Products SMSes and calls 

• BLOCK 2 for Real Estate 

• BLOCK 3 for Education-related Spam 

• BLOCK 4 for Health 

• BLOCK 5 for Consumer Goods/ Automobiles/ Entertainment/ IT 

• BLOCK 6 for Communication/ Broadcasting 

• BLOCK 7 for Tourism and Leisure 

• BLOCK 8 for Food and Beverages 

Send an SMS with the text UNBLOCK 91 to unblock all Banking/ Insurance/ Credit Cards/ Financial Products SMSes and calls 

• UNBLOCK 92 for Real Estate 

• UNBLOCK 93 for Education-related Spam 

• UNBLOCK 94 for Health 

• UNBLOCK 95 for Consumer Goods/ Automobiles/ Entertainment/ IT 

• UNBLOCK 96 for Communication/ Broadcasting 

• UNBLOCK 97 for Tourism and Leisure 

• UNBLOCK 98 for Food and Beverages
