Market report- Indian bourses open in the red

A weak opening for benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty, while the broader global backdrop improved following the benign US inflation print and a drop in crude oil prices.
At 9:20 AM on August 13, the Nifty was down around 0.38% at 24,345, while the Sensex declined around 0.20% to trade at 77,805.

Asian equities were largely higher on Thursday after US inflation came in as expected, reducing concerns that the Federal Reserve may need to raise interest rates again in the near term

US equities also received support from the inflation data and strong earnings from AI infrastructure companies. The S&P 500 gained 0.26% to 7,748.5, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.54% to 26,588.49. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.04%.
