Post Market Update- India-US trade deal boost markets

Indian indices-

Indian stock markets closed higher on February 03, 2026, after US President Donald Trump announced a trade pact with India that cuts US tariffs on Indian goods to 18% from 50%. All the sectors end in green. At the end Sensex surged by 2.54% or 2,072.67 points to 83,739.13. The Nifty soared 2.55% or 639.15 points to 25,727.55.

Indian markets recorded biggest single day gain since May 12, 2025.

Rupee ended at 90.27/$ against February 02, 2026, close of 91.51/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. City Union Bank surged 5.59% to Rs. 298.30, after reporting a standalone net profit of Rs 332.16 crore, up 16.14% YoY, on the back of a 17.22% rise in Q3 FY26 compared with Q3 FY25.

2. RMC Switchgears jumped 7.28% to Rs. 411.90, after the company announced that it has received orders worth Rs 200.86 crore for development of distribution infrastructure works.

3. Zydus Wellness slipped 2.76% to Rs. 423, after the company reported a consolidated net loss of Rs. 39.9 crore in Q3 FY26 as against a net profit of Rs. 6.4 crore recorded in Q3 FY25.

Global Signals-

Asia-Pacific markets rose after Donald Trump said Washington and India had struck a trade deal.

European stocks were higher as global markets settled following a short-lived sell-off in cryptocurrencies and precious metals.
