Post Market Update- Sensex, Nifty slip amid global uncertainty

Stocks in the news-

1. Apollo Micro Systems bagged multiple orders worth Rs. 510 cr.

2. L&T gets EPC order worth Rs. 1,000-2,500 cr from Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Ltd.

Earnings-

1. Hyundai Motor India Q4 net profit down 22.2% YoY at Rs. 1,255.6 Cr.

2. State Bank of India Q4 net profit rose by 5.6% YoY at Rs. 19,683.7 Cr.

Indian indices-

The benchmark indices closed lower on May 08, 2026, as renewed US–Iran tensions and a spike in global crude oil prices weighed on investor sentiment. Among sectors, except IT, Healthcare, Consumer Durables and FMCG, all other indices ended in the red. At close, the Sensex was down 516.33 points or 0.66% at 77,328.19. The Nifty was down 150.50 points or 0.62% at 24,176.15.

Rupee ended at 94.48/$ against May 07 close of 94.25/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Sonata Software rallied 9.68% to Rs. 297.30, after the company reported 25.05% jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 130.50 crore in Q4 FY26 over Q3 FY26.

2. Pidilite Industries gained 1.72% to Rs. 1,476.15, after the company’s standalone net profit jumped 22.8% to Rs 547.39 crore in Q4 FY26 over Q4 FY25.

3. Shakti Pumps India slumped 7.63% to Rs. 549.90, after the company’s consolidated net profit declined 65.2% to Rs. 38.33 crore in Q4 FY26 as against Rs. 110.23 crore posted in Q4 FY25.
