The Company was incorporated as a Public Limited Company on March 29, 1994, as GSL Securities Limited u/s (3) of the Companies Act, 1956. The Company obtained the Certificate for the Commencement of Business on May 3, 1994. The Company has since then undertaken business activities mainly in the area of Capital Market Investments and short term financing. The Company intends to broadbase its operations by diversifying into other services like Leasing, Hire-Purchase, etc. The Company is a Non Banking Financial Services Company and was incorporated with the main objective of pursuing the business of Financial Services like Leasing, Hire Purchase, Financial Consultancy, Bill Discounting, Stock Broking, Investments, etc. Given the emerging opportunities in the Capital and Money Market the company wishes to expand its operations. RBI vide its letter dated 8.12.94 has classified the Company in the Category of an Investment Company as defined in para 2(1)(i) of our Notification DNBC No.38/DG(H)-77 DNBC-39/DG(H)-77 dated 20th June, 1977. 2. MAIN OBJECTS The Main Object of the Company as set out in the Memorandum of Association is as under: 1) To carry on the business of finance, to finance the industrial enterprises, deferred payments, credits leasing, hire purchase, hiring or leasing and for that arrangement of purchasing and selling of plant and Machinery, equipments or other assets and bill discounting, stock broking and other financial and allied activities and to act as an investment company and for this purpose to invest money of the company to acquire, purchase, sell, exchange, subscribe for hold and otherwise dispose off and deal in any shares, debentures, bonds, stock, commercial papers notes, units, securities, immovable mortgages, obligation including any rights privileges or advantages therein. 2) To carry on the business of Merchant Banking and portfolio management subject to securities and exchange Board of India (Merchant Banking) Rules and Regulation 1992 and such other approval as may be required from other authorities subject to compliance of any other law in this regard but not to carry on all or any part of Banking business as contemplated by the Reserve Bank of India Act/Banking Regulation Act, 1949. 2008 - E-mail ID for Investors Complaints:gslsec@bom3.vsnl.net.in.
