Asian equities advanced on Friday on hope of Federal Reserve maintaining status quo on interest rates at its September meeting. South Korea's tech-heavy Kospi gained 1%, while Japan's Topix advanced 0.9%.
US stocks advanced on Thursday. The S&P 500 climbed 0.65% to a record closing high of 7,798.99, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.81%.
