Comments from US Federal Reserve's Waller prompted investors to scale back bets on a September rate hike, triggering a strong overnight rally on Wall Street, gains across Asian equities, and a decline in US bond yields. However, crude oil prices near $96 per barrel and ongoing US-Iran tensions could cap further gains.
At 9:20 AM on September 4, the Sensex was up 0.63% at 76,636.08, while the Nifty gained 60 points to 23,925.40.
Rupee Check
The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 94.47 against the US dollar, compared with Thursday's close of 94.49.
