Market Report- Sensex down 980 points, Nifty below 22,600

The Nifty50 and the Sensex declined sharply on March 30, 2026, as the conflict in the Middle East has entered its fifth week, and sentiment soured further over the weekend. Crude oil is the main culprit behind the morning's sell-off. Brent Crude has surged past $115 per barrel. WTI Crude is trading above $100. At 9.25 am, Sensex slipped by 1.36% or 980 points to 72,630. The Nifty dipped by 1.19% or 275 points to 22,545.

The markets are coming off their fifth straight losing week—the longest such streak in years.
