Midday Report- Morning gains evaporate as rupee breach

After seeing strong relief rally at the open, the Indian markets gave up their early gains in the afternoon session on March 20,2026. The unprecedented fall of the Indian Rupee, which breached the 93-mark to hit a record low of 93.25 against the US Dollar, Persistent FII selling, Brent crude staying well above $100 weighed on the investor sentiment. At 12.45 pm, Sensex rose by 0.86% or 647 points to 74,863. The Nifty gained 0.95% or 218 points to 23,222.
