Indian indices-
The benchmark indices ended July 23, 2026, session in the red, extending recent weakness amid concerns over rising crude oil prices, geopolitical tensions in West Asia, a weaker rupee, and continued pressure from foreign investor selling. Sectoral trends stayed weak, with only a few indices managing to end higher. At close, the Sensex was down 363.66 points or 0.47% at 76,391.39, and the Nifty was down 126.65 points or 0.53% at 23,869.60.
Rupee closed unchanged at 96.57/$.
Buzzing stocks on BSE-
1. Eternal rose 1.16% to Rs. 286.70, after the company reported a 268% surge in consolidated net profit to Rs 92 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 25 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
2. Tanla Platforms surged 10.46% to Rs. 618.90, after the company’s consolidated net profit jumped 20.07% to Rs. 142.17 crore for the Quarter ended June 30, 2026.
3. Dr Reddys Laboratories slipped 1.07% to Rs. 1170.40, after the company reported a 68.71% YoY decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 443.5 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 1,417.8 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
4. Chennai Petroleum Corporation declined 2.93% to Rs. 1,269.50, after the company reported a 27.37% decline in standalone net profit to Rs. 1,016.67 crore for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, compared with Rs 1,399.70 crore in Q4 FY26.
