Post Market Update- Indian markets extend rally, close higher for third session

Stocks in the news-

1. EMS bagged order worth Rs. 158 cr from Delhi Jal Board.

2. L&T arm L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore signs 6-Year EPC agreement with Petroleum Development Oman.

Earnings-

1. Shree Cement Q1 net profit down 29% YoY at Rs. 438 Cr.

2. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Q1 net profit up 27% YoY at Rs. 2,894 Cr.

Indian indices-

Indian stock markets closed higher for the third consecutive session on July 31, 2026. Positive investor sentiment, supported by gains in auto and financial stocks, outweighed weakness in the IT sector. At close, the Sensex was up 166.49 points or 0.21% at 78,094.64, and the Nifty was up 66.45 points or 0.27% at 24,383.60.

Rupee strengthens against the dollar, closing at 95.38 compared with 95.68 previously.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Madhav Infra Projects fell 1.76% to Rs. 7.82, after the company reported a 16.44% decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 6.25 crore in Q1 FY27 as against Rs 7.48 crore in Q1 FY26.

2. EMS climbed 6.41% to Rs. 408.30, after the company received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from the Delhi Jal Board for a sewerage infrastructure project worth approximately Rs 158.29 crore.

3. Data Patterns (India) declined 3.96% to Rs. 4,283.40, after the company reported a 13.49% decline in standalone net profit to Rs 22.06 crore in Q1 FY27 as against Rs 25.50 crore in Q1 FY26.

4. Aether Industries rallied 5.03% to Rs. 1,564.10 after the company reported a 33.45% jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 62.74 crore for the quarter ended 30 June 2026 (Q1 FY27), compared with Rs 47.02 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
