Post Market Update- IT stocks hold firm amid market-wide drop

Stocks in the news-

Earnings-

1. Hindustan Unilever Q4 net profit up 20.9% YoY at Rs. 2,992 cr.

2. Cholamandalam Investment Q4 net profit gained 29.5% YoY at Rs. 1,640.7 cr.

Indian indices-

Indian equities crashed on April 30, 2026, facing intense broad-based selling pressure across nearly all sectors, mirroring heavy global selloffs. IT was the lone sector that managed to escape from the heavy red wave. Crude oil prices, weak global cues and continued foreign selling dented investor sentiment. At close, the Sensex was down 582.86 points or 0.75% at 76,913.50, and the Nifty was down 180.1 points or 0.74% at 23,997.55.

The Indian Rupee recovered from record low, ended marginally lower at 94.92 per dollar on April 30 versus the previous close of 94.85.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Mphasis rose 1.17% to Rs. 2,275, after the company’s consolidated net profit increased 14.14% to Rs. 509.64 crore in Q4 FY26 over Q4 FY25.

2. KFin Technologies slipped 8.44% to Rs. 894.75, after the company reported 4.6% fall in consolidated net profit to Rs. 81.15 crore as compared with Q4 FY25.

3. IDBI Bank fell 1.15% to Rs. 75.89 after the bank’s standalone net profit declined 5.27% to Rs 1,943.17 crore in Q4 FY26 over Q4 FY25.
