Post Market Update- Markets close in green; Rupee ends at record low

Indian indices-

Indian equities ended on a positive note on March 20, 2026, staging a significant recovery from March 19, 2026, brutal sell-off. The markets ended in the green, the day was marked by extreme volatility and a historic collapse in the currency. The recovery was largely driven by bargain hunting and cooling oil prices. Except media, private bank, realty, all other sectoral indices ended in the green. At close, the Sensex was up 325.72 points or 0.44% at 74,532.96, and the Nifty was up 112.35 points or 0.49% at 23,114.50.

Rupee ended at a record closing low of 93.71/$ Vs. March 19 close of 92.63/$.

1. Tata Power Company rose 1.07% to Rs. 402.75, after signing PPA with Gujarat Govt for Mundra Power plant.

2. JSW Cement up 1% to Rs. 115.95, after the company commissioned its greenfield integrated cement plant in Nagaur, Rajasthan, marking its entry into North India.
