Stocks in the news-

1. Ashoka Buildcon bagged Rs 602 crore electromechanical system order from RVNL

Indian indices-

The Sensex ended 307 points lower at 76,956.83, and the Nifty was down 0.39% at 24,080.40. The Bank Nifty rose ~900 points from day's low to close nearly 1% higher at 58,024.95.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Transformers and Rectifiers (India) advanced 3.54% to Rs 314.35 after the company announced that it has received a purchase order from Megha Engineering and Infrastructures (MEIL) for manufacturing transformers and related works.

2. Ashoka Buildcon gained 12.64% to Rs 126.95 after the company announced that it has secured a Rs 602.16-crore order from Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) for electro-mechanical works for tunnels under the Rishikesh–Karnprayag rail project in Uttarakhand.

3. John Cockerill India rose 2.39% to Rs 8319.50 after the company secured an order worth approximately Rs 200 crore from A1 Iron & Steel Tanzania for steel processing equipment at its plant in Dodoma, Tanzania.

Global Signals-

Asian markets ended mixed as investors assessed comments from US Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh and the escalation of the US-Iran war.

European markets traded lower in early deals as caution over monetary policy weighed on sentiment.
