Post Market Update- Sensex, Nifty close higher on strong buying

Stocks in the news-

1. ACME Solar raised Rs. 3,404.6 cr project funding for 250 MW FDRE project from PFC.

2. L&T Energy won major EPC order worth Rs. 5,000-10,000 cr from Kuwait Oil Co. for its key Jurassic Light Oil export facilities.

3. Texmaco Rail signed tripartite agreement with Touax Group and Trinity Rail for railcar solutions in India.

Indian indices-

Indian equities closed on a strong note on July 29, 2026, with the benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty gaining more than 1%. The market rally was driven by robust buying in IT, FMCG, and metal stocks, with Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, and Jio Financial Services emerging as the top performers. Investor sentiment remained positive despite higher crude oil prices and ongoing geopolitical concerns, supported by renewed foreign institutional investor (FII) inflows, a stronger rupee, and optimism surrounding domestic economic fundamentals. At close, the Sensex was up 888.68 points or 1.16% at 77,654.60, and the Nifty was up 264.85 points or 1.10% at 24,250.20.

Rupee ended higher at 95.65 Vs 95.85.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. RailTel Corporation of India rose 2.96% to Rs. 294.05, after the company announced that it has secured a Rs 43.90 crore work order from the Office of the Inspector General of Police (Provisioning), Odisha Police.

2. Tata Capital rose 1.83% to Rs. 361.45, after the company reported a 56.32% jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,547.38 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 989.89 crore in Q1 FY26.

3. S H Kelkar and Company surged 14.28% to Rs. 164.45, after the company’s consolidated net profit jumped 75.99% to Rs 45 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 25.57 crore in Q1 FY26.

4. PCBL Chemical gained 14.94% to Rs. 365.85, after the company’s consolidated net profit jumped 64.77% to Rs 154.97 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 94.05 crore recorded in Q1 FY26.

5. Sharda Cropchem tanked 5.13% to Rs. 829, after its consolidated net profit slipped 38.34% to Rs 88.03 crore in Q1 FY27 as against Rs 142.78 crore in Q1 FY2
