Post Market Update- Sensex plunges 1,353 points, Nifty at 24,000

Indian indices-

Sensex, Nifty ended off their day's low on March 09 2026, after crude oil prices eased amid the ongoing US-Iran war. All the sectoral indices ended in the red. At close, the Sensex was down 1,352.74 points or 1.71% at 77,566.16. The Nifty was down 422.40 points or 1.73% at 24,028.05.

Rupee ended at a record closing low of 92.33/$ against March 06, 2026 close of 91.74/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) fell by 5.05% to Rs. 384.80, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd fell 6.12% to Rs. 331.10, as crude oil nears $120 per barrel

2. PG Electroplast declined 14.07% to Rs. 522.45, as LPG allocation cut due to US-Iran war.

3. Meesho hits 10% lower circuit at 143.20, as firm gets Rs. 1,500 Cr income tax demand notice.

European markets fell over 2% on Middle East turmoil as oil price surges.
