Post Market Update- Weak IT stocks drag Indian markets

Indian indices-

The benchmark indices ended lower on June 19, 2026, as heavy selling in IT stocks dragged the indices down. The decline was mainly triggered by a weak outlook from global IT major Accenture, along with worries over US interest rates and global tech weakness. At the end, Sensex fell by 0.64% or 607.08 points to 76,802.90. The Nifty declined by 0.78% or 154.90 points to 24,013.10.

Rupee closed at 94.32/$ Vs. June 18, 2026 close of 94.33/$.

1. Aurobindo Pharma rose 3.50% to Rs. 1,493.60, after company gets US FTC nod for Lannett co acquisition.

2. VA Tech Wabag gained 8.82% to Rs. 1,983.40, on bagging 'mega' desalination project in Kuwait.

Global Signals-

Asian markets traded mixed, with cautious sentiment and profit-taking limiting gains across the region.

European markets were trading cautiously higher, with gains limited amid geopolitical and interest rate concerns.
