The main object of the company is to Manufacture and deal in oxygen, dissolved acetylene, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, carbonic acid, medical gases, fuel gases and all other gases. 1964 - 10,000 shares subcribed for in cash by the directors their friends and associated 12,500 shares offered for public subscription in August. 1985 - The Operations were adversely affected due to power cuts in the Kerala and Karnataka states. 1988 - The Operations were adversely affected due to continued high cost of inputs, increased purchase prices of gases and power cuts. 2008 - Southern Gas Ltd has appointed Mr. Gautam V Pai Cacode as additional Director of Company and in accordance with Section 260 of Company Act 1956 he will hold office until next Annual General Meeting of the Company. 2012 -The Board of Directors of the Company has recommended a dividend of Rs. 30/- per share @ 30% of the fore value of Rs. 100/- per share. 2014 -The Board of Directors of the Company has recommended a dividend of Rs. 30/- per share @ 30% of the fore value of Rs. 100/- per share. 2015 -Southern Gas Ltd has recommended a dividend of Rs. 30/- per share @ 30% of the face value of Rs. 100/- per share on the equity capital.
