Market Report- Market trade in green. Sensex up 200 points

The benchmark indices were trading in green on January 16, 2026. IT stocks jumped after Infosys raises guidance, capital market stocks higher. At 9.25 am, Sensex rose 0.27% or 226 points to 83,614. The Nifty gained 0.19% or 48 points to 25,708.

Rupee opened at 90.37/$ Vs. January 14, 2026, close of 90.30/$.

Global Update-

Asian stocks climbed, lifting several regional markets even as broader Asia-Pacific trade remained mixed.

European stocks closed higher on January 15, led by AI chip stocks which surged following record earnings by TSMC.
