Market Report- Markets trade higher. Sensex above 200 points

The benchmark indices were trading higher on April 16, as buying was seen among majority of the index heavyweights. Among sectors, except IT, metal, auto, all other indices were trading in the green. BSE Midcap and smallcap indices up 0.5% each. At 2.09 pm, Sensex rose by 0.28% or 216 points to 76,944. The Nifty gained 0.30% or 72 points to 23,403.

Asia-Pacific markets mostly fell as trade war worries dent sentiment.

European markets slipped into the red as uncertainty over the direction of US trade tariffs continued to dent sentiment.
