Market Report- Markets trade lower on Trump's tariff move

The benchmark indices were trading lower on July 31, 2025, after President Donald Trump said that India will have a 25% tariff beginning August 1. He also said that the key trading partner will face an additional "penalty,". Majority of the index heavyweights were also trading in red. At 9.30 am, Sensex, slipped by 0.65% or 523 points to 80,950. The Nifty dipped by 0.63% or 152 points to 24,704.

Rupee opened at 87.69/$ Vs. July 30 close of 87.42/$.
