The benchmark indices were trading lower on July 11, 2025, followed by heavy selling in IT shares and and renewed trade tensions after US President Donald Trump imposed fresh tariffs on Canada. Except FMCG, pharma, all other sectoral indices were trading in the red. BSE Midcap fell 0.59% and smallcap indices shed 0.67%. At 1.14 pm, Sensex declined by 0.81% or 677 points to 82,516. The Nifty plunged 0.78% or 199 points to 25,156.
