Midday Report- Sensex drops 1,200 points, Nifty below 23,000

The benchmark indices were trading lower on March 27, 2026, tracking global stocks. Brent crude stays above $100 a barrel after volatile week. At 12.38 pm, Sensex slipped 1.60% or 1,200 points to 74,062. The Nifty dipped 1.52% or 351 points to 22,952.

Rupee Update

The Indian Rupee breached the 94/$1 mark for the first time today, hitting a record low of 94.29.
