Indian indices-

The benchmark indices ended lower on September 22, 2026, weighed down by losses in IT and financial stocks. Investor sentiment remained cautious amid ongoing movements in crude oil prices and US Treasury yields, while sectoral performance stayed mixed. At the close, the Sensex declined 329.91 points, or 0.44%, to 74,529.08, while the Nifty fell 85.30 points, or 0.36%, to 23,329.00.

Indian rupee strengthened against the US dollar, closing at 95.59/$ compared with 95.82/$ in the previous session.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd gained 2.94% to Rs. 178.45, on Rs. 985 Cr international order win.

2. Transrail Lighting Ltd jumped 15.195 to Rs. 477.05, on capacity expansion.

3. Pace Digitek Ltd advanced 9.11% to Rs. 168.90, after its material subsidiary, Lineage Power (LPPL), secured an order worth Rs 488.46 crore from NTPC GE Power Services for a battery energy storage system (BESS) project.

Global Signals-

Asian markets rose as the market mood turned positive from the overnight rally on Wall Street.

European markets traded largely higher, supported by easing oil prices and hopes of diplomatic progress in the Middle East.
