Post Market Update- Late buying fails to lift markets

Stocks in the news-

1. Welspun Corp gets order worth approx. Rs. 5,500 Cr for Natural Gas Pipeline project in USA.

2. Jyoti Structures gets LoA for an order worth Rs. 690 Cr from Gujarat Energy.

3. GK Energy bagged Rs. 330 Cr order from MSEDCL for 14,000 Solar Water Pumps across Maharashtra.

Earnings-

1. CSB Bank Q2 net profit rose 14% YoY to Rs. 183 Cr.

2. CG Power and Industrial Solutions Q2 net profit up 43.6% YoY at Rs. 412 Cr.

3. GNA Axles Q2 net Profit up 41% YoY at Rs. 44 Cr.

Indian indices-

Indian stock markets pared most of their intraday losses but ended lower on October 23, marking its fourth consecutive session of declines. Investor sentiment remained cautious amid persistent global uncertainties, with selective buying helped the indices recover from the day's lows. All the sectoral indices ended in the red. At close, the Sensex was down 125.56 points or 0.17% at 73,123.83, and the Nifty was down 87.65 points or 0.39% at 22,600.

Rupee closes at 94.94, Weighed down by dollar strength.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Rallis India declined 4.67% to Rs. 194.05, after the company’s standalone net profit fell 16.67% to Rs. 85 crores in Q2 FY27 compared with Rs. 102 crores in Q2 FY26.

2. Steel Strips Wheels jumped 20% to Rs. 469.70, as company reported consolidated net profit at Rs. 117 crores in Q2 FY27, compared to Rs. 35.5 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

3. Godrej Properties fell 4.23% to Rs. 1,497.90, after consolidating net profit decreased 62% a year to Rs. 154 crores in the September quarter (Q2FY27).

Global Signals-

Asian markets traded mostly lower, tracking overnight weakness on Wall Street amid a global tech sell-off and concerns over AI spending.

European markets fell amid tech weakness and rising oil prices.
