Post Market Update- Markets end volatile day with mild gains

Stocks in the news-

1. L&T bagged order in the range of Rs. 1,000-2,500 cr for power transmission & distribution biz from West Asia clients.

Earnings-

1. TVS Motor Company Q4 net profit rose by 33% YoY at Rs. 998 Cr.

2. Power Finance Corporation Q4 net profit up 10.8% YoY at Rs. 6,999 Cr.

3. Kirloskar Brothers Q4 net profit down 18.7% YoY at Rs. 112 Cr.

Indian indices-

The benchmark indices ended a volatile trading day with marginal gains on May 13, 2026, after recovering from early losses. Both the BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty 50 oscillated between gains and losses before settling with mild recovery from the previous session. At close, the Sensex rose 49.73 points or 0.07% to 74,608.98, while the Nifty gained 33.05 points or 0.14% to settle at 23,412.60.

Rupee ended at a record closing low of 95.71/$ against May 12, 2026, close of 95.63/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. MTAR Technologies Ltd surged 7.98% to Rs. 6749.15, after company raised FY27 revenue growth guidance from 50% to 80%.

2. Tata Power Company fell 3.36% to Rs. 404.35, after the company’s consolidated net profit fell 4.50% to Rs. 995.91 crore in Q4 FY26 over Q4 FY25.

3. Texmaco Rail & Engineering surged 13.88% to Rs. 120.20, after the company reported a 45.03% YoY increase in consolidated net profit to Rs. 57.68 crore in Q4 FY26, compared with Rs. 39.77 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
