Post Market Update- Markets slip further; Rupee hits record Low

Indian indices-

Indian equities closed May 12, 2026, session in a negative territory as broad-based selling pressure weighed on sentiment. Persistent foreign investor outflows, a record-low rupee, geopolitical tensions in West Asia and surging crude oil prices continued to dampen risk appetite. IT and realty stocks led the decline, Consumer durables, PSU banks and oil & gas also saw heavy selling. Market breadth remained sharply negative. At close, the Sensex was down 1,456.04 points or 1.92% at 74,559.24, while the Nifty declined 436.30 points or 1.83% to 23,379.55.

Rupee ended at a record closing low of 95.63/$ against May 11, 2026, close of 95.31/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Afcons Infrastructure advanced 2.57% to Rs. 334.95, on over Rs. 7,500 cr order win impact.

2. TeamLease Services Ltd gained 1.65% to Rs. 1,374, after company to consider buyback.

3. Satin Creditcare Network surged 4.70% to Rs. 224.90, after the company reported a more than seven-fold jump in consolidated net profit to Rs. 162.02 crore in Q4 FY26, compared with Rs. 21.89 crore posted in Q4 FY25.

4. Manorama Industries declined 12.48% to Rs. 1,397.10, after the company’s standalone net profit fell 12.79% to Rs. 59.51 crore in Q4 FY26 over Q3 FY26.
