Stocks in the news-

1. Vascon Engineers gets Letter of Intent (LoI) for a project worth Rs. 225.5 crore from Royal Rides.

2. Samhi Hotels to sell 35% stake in three subsidiaries to GIC for Rs. 752 crores.

Earnings

1. Can Fin Homes Q4 net profit rose by 12% YoY to Rs. 234 crores.

2. Hindustan Unilever Q4 net profit rose by 3.60% YoY to Rs. 2,493 cr.

Indian indices-

The Indian markets closed April 24, 2025, trading session in the red zone. Profit booking was witnessed among majority of the sectors. Markets remained under pressure throughout the day. The fall was mainly due to volatility on the expiry day. The broader market too ended trade on a negative note. The BSE Midcap index slipped by 0.16% and BSE Smallcap index were down by 0.01%. At close, the Sensex was down 315.06 points or 0.39% at 79,801.43 The Nifty was down 82.25 points or 0.34% at 24,246.70.

Rupee ended at Rs. 85.26/$ against April 23 close of Rs. 85.42/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Bharat Forge down 2.73% to Rs. 1,104.45, after Trump administration opens national security probe into imported commercial trucks.

2. Rallis India dropped 3.90% to Rs. 244, after the pesticides maker's standalone net loss widened to Rs. 32 crores in Q4 FY25 as against a net loss of Rs 21 crore reported in Q4 FY24.

3. Tamilnad Mercantile Bank surged 3.21% to Rs. 455, after the banks' net profit rose 15.35% to Rs 291.90 crore in Q4 March 2025.
