Post Market Update- Sensex, Nifty close lower for second session

Stocks in the news-

1. ZEN Technologies secured order worth Rs. 177.5 Cr from Ministry of Defence.

Earnings-

1. Granules India Q1 net profit up 60% YoY at Rs. 180 Cr.

2. Bajaj Auto Q1 net profit up 42.3% YoY at Rs. 2,983 Cr.

Indian indices-

Indian stock markets ended lower for the second consecutive session on July 21, 2026, as investors remained cautious amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia. Weaknesses in IT and PSU banking stocks weighed on benchmark indices. Selling pressure in heavyweight stocks kept the Sensex and Nifty in negative territory despite selective buying in financial shares. At close, the Sensex was down 238.41 points or 0.31% at 77,470.11, and the Nifty was down 50.80 points or 0.21% at 24,187.70.

Rupee closed at 96.24/$ Vs. July 20 close of 96.45/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. BlueStone Jewellery and Lifestyle jumped 19.52% to Rs. 727.20, after the company reported consolidated net profit of Rs. 11.13 cr in Q1 FY27 compared with a net loss of Rs. 32.78 crore in Q1 FY26.

2. Karur Vysya Bank surged 12.86% to Rs. 340.10, after the private sector lender reported a 44.92% rise in standalone net profit to Rs 755.70 crore for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, compared with Rs 521.45 crore in Q1 FY26.

Global Signals-

Asian markets advanced as the recent selloff in semiconductor stocks showed signs of easing.

European markets traded higher, as easing oil prices and gains in technology stocks supported sentiment despite ongoing West Asia tensions.
