Indian indices-
The benchmark indices ended lower on July 17, 2025, as investors remained cautious ahead of the final announcement of the India-US trade deal. On the sectoral front, IT, PSU bank shed, while FMCG, metal, consumer durables, realty indices gained. The BSE midcap index ended flat, while smallcap index rose 0.30%. At close, the Sensex was down 375.24 points or 0.45% at 82,259.24. The Nifty was down 100.60 points or 0.40% at 25,111.45.
Rupee ended at 86.08/$ against July 16, 2025, close of 85.94/$.
Buzzing stocks on BSE-
1. PNC Infratech rose 2.55% to Rs. 319.20, after company selected as lowest bidder for a solar power project by NHPC.
2. Mahindra Logistics surged 6.66% to Rs. 415.40, after the company's board approved a Rs. 750 crore rights issue.
3. Sterlite Technologies gained 3.10% to Rs. 118.20, after it partners with Hygenco for green hydrogen production facility in Maharashtra.
Global Signals-
Asia-Pacific markets mostly rose as investors assess Japan's trade data and Trump's plans for Powell.
European markets were higher. CAC 40 up 0.88%, DAX up 0.85% and FTSE 100 up 0.45%
