Post Market Update- Sensex gains 144 points, Nifty at 24,855

Stocks in the news-

Earnings-

1. Greaves Cotton Q1 net profit up 56.2% YoY at Rs. 57 cr.

2. Zydus Wellness Q1 net profit down 13.3% at Rs. 128 cr.

Indian indices-

The benchmark indices ended higher on July 30, 2025, as buying was seen among index heavyweights like L&T, Sun Pharma, NTPC, Maruti etc. On the sectoral front, media, auto, PSU Bank, realty were down, while buying was seen in the IT, FMCG, consumer durables, capital goods names. BSE Midcap and smallcap indices ended with marginal gains. At close, the Sensex was up 143.91 points or 0.18% at 81,481.86, and the Nifty was up 33.95 points or 0.14% at 24,855.05.

Rupee ended at 87.42/$ against July 29 close of 86.82/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. The New India Assurance Company jumped 17.73% to Rs. 204.55, as Q1 profit surged 80% to Rs. 391 crore, premium growth strong & AUM crosses Rs. 1 lakh crore.

2. Bank of India rose 1.92% to Rs. 114.30, after reporting a 32.2% YoY increase in consolidated net profit for Q1, driven by strong growth in advances across retail, MSME & overseas segments.

3. Tata Motors down 3.47% to Rs. 668.40, according to reports, company to acquire stake in Italian CV maker Iveco Group.

Global Signals-

Asia markets traded mixed as US tariff truce with China hangs in the balance.

European stocks were higher as investors digest earnings season.
