Post Market Update- Sensex up 295 points, Nifty above 24,400.

Stocks in the news-

1. Biocon secured market access for Yesintek Biosimilar covering over 100 million lives in the US.

2. Coal India signed MoU with UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam for setting of 500 MW solar power project in Uttar Pradesh.

Earnings-

1. M&M Q4 Consolidated profit up 19.6% YoY at Rs. 3,295 cr.

2. Bajaj Consumer Care Q4 net profit down 13% YoY at Rs. 31 cr.

Indian indices-

Indian markets on May 05, 2025, saw positive trade throughout the day and closed in green. This rally on the Dalal Street was bolstered by strong buying across the board. Except bank, all other were on the buyer’s radar. Gains in the index heavyweights like Adani Ports, Bajaj FinServ, M&M, Eternal, ITC, Tata Motors acted as a major support to the markets. At close, the Sensex was up 294.85 points or 0.37% at 80,796.84. The Nifty was up 114.45 points or 0.47% at 24,461.15.

The Indian rupee ended at 84.25/$ against May 02 close of 84.58/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. RR Kabel jumped 14.18% to Rs. 1,171.05, on highest revenue in Q4, capacity expansion plans.

2. Kotak Mahindra Bank dropped 4.57% to Rs. 2,085.05, after the private lender's standalone net profit fell 14.07% to Rs. 3,551.74 crore in Q4 FY25 as against Rs 4,133.30 crore posted in Q4 FY24.

3. NetwebTech surged 14.31% to Rs. 1,623.75, on hopes of continued order book momentum.

Global Signals-

Japanese, South Korean, Hong Kong and Chinese markets were closed today for holidays.

European markets were mixed, as investors looked ahead to the latest economic data and corporate earnings reports due this week.
