Market Report- IT stocks lift markets in early trade

Indian stock markets opened higher on July 17 despite weak global cues. Gains in IT stocks and optimism around upcoming corporate earnings supported sentiment, while investors remained cautious due to subdued Asian markets, elevated crude oil prices, and ongoing geopolitical uncertainties. At 9.23 am, Sensex rose by 0.48% or 442 points to 77621. The Nifty rose 0.48% or 115 points to 24,189.
