Indian equities trade lower on July 20, 2026, as investors remained cautious amid rising tensions in West Asia. Most sectoral indices were trading in the red, indicating a broadly weak market sentiment. Most sectors traded lower with banking and financial stocks leading the losses. Realty, auto, and IT shares also remained under pressure, while media stocks outperformed. Meanwhile, metals, pharma, PSU banks, oil & gas, healthcare, and chemical stocks posted modest gains.At 1.28 pm, Sensex slipped by 0.38% or 408 points to 77752. The Nifty dipped 0.52% or 93 points to 24,242.
