Stocks in the news-

1. HBL Engg Gets 5 LoAs Worth Rs 762.6 cr For Kavach Project from Central Railways.

2. Patel Engineering emerged as lowest bidder for Rs. 1,319 cr Kondhane Dam project from CIDCO.

3. IRFC emerged as lowest bidder for Rs. 5,000 crore rupee term loan to NTPC

Earnings-

1. VST Industries Q4 net profit down by 40% YoY at Rs. 53 crore.

2. Hindustan Zinc Q4 net profit rose by 47.3% YoY to Rs. 3,003 crore.

3. Maruti Suzuki Q4 net profit slipped by 4.3% YoY to Rs. 3,711 crore.

Indian indices-

Indian stock markets ended lower on April 24, as markets witnessed selling pressure among sectoral indices. Investor remained cautious weighed down by escalating geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan. Among sectors, except IT, all other indices ended in the red. BSE Midcap and smallcap indices shed 2.5% each. At close, the Sensex was down 588.90 points or 0.74% at 79,212.53, and the Nifty was down 207.35 points or 0.86% at 24,039.35.

The Rupee ended at 85.45/$ versus 85.26/$ a day ago.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Axis Bank declined 3.48% to Rs. 1,165.30, after the bank’s standalone net profit declined marginally to Rs. 7,117.50, down 0.17% as compared with Rs. 7,129.67 crore in Q4FY25.

2. SBI Life Insurance Company jumped 5.12% to Rs. 1,691, after the company’s net profit rose marginally to Rs. 813.51 crore in Q4FY25 as against Rs. 810.80 crore posted in Q4FY24.

3. Patel Engineering (PEL) gained 2.28% to Rs. 45.36, after the company said that it has declared the lowest bidder for two projects worth Rs. 2,036.89 crore.
